Wishing Ball & Gratitude Globe
A Wishing Ball and Gratitude Globe is a piggy bank for wishes, dreams, blessings and thank yous.
Where do wishes go once they're made? Who knows? Glass artist Jill Henrietta Davis believes they travel out into the Universe and has created a beautiful way to keep a piece of your wish behind as a reminder. Simply write your message of hope or gratitude on a page of the included notepad, tear out the page, roll it up, focus on your wish and then tuck the paper inside the globe for permanent safe keeping.
Each Wishing Ball & Gratitude Globe comes packed in an individual gift box with a 52-page notepad. Also included is a hang tag with words and photos explaining how they work. These beautiful hand blown glass globes make great gifts - for a baby or bridal shower, a birthday, graduation, or house warming - or can be used as a very personal, private totem. Why not pause once a week for a year to either consider how much there is to be grateful for, even in difficult times, or to give yourself a little pep talk and renew a wish related to a goal you are working toward? Each Wishing Ball will hold 104 wishes.
People often ask Jill why the wishes can’t come back out and she likes to draw a comparison to birthday candles. “When you blow out your candles, you don’t tell the wish you made, otherwise it won’t come true,” says Jill. “But more importantly, memories are always more beautiful than photographs, and the same is true of wishes. When you look at the little slips of paper accumulating in your Wishing Ball, I want you to think about the Big Picture those messages convey. Rereading the notes would be like looking backwards, or trying to step in the same river twice.”
Why We Love the Wishing Ball (or is it a Gratitude Globe?): Made of beautiful colored glass, this Ball is a visual reminder of our wishes or of all we are grateful for. We can feel a sense of pride when we look inside and see our thoughts captured for eternity. Use this Ball as part of a daily gratitude ritual. Or give it as a gift to someone who is going through a difficult time. However you choose to use it, the symbolism of not looking back is powerful.
